We are in the process of organizing an ART AUCTION to raise funds for Riaan's trip to China.

Tienie Pitzer from the gorgeous Alice Art Gallery in Hartbeespoort has offered to assist Riaan with selling the donated art. Tienie can be contacted on 083 325 0358.

We have contacted and sent out the word to several artists around the coun try asking for donated art pieces and have received a VERY positive response so far.

Art Auction Update

Tienie Pitzer from Alice Art Gallery in Hartbeespoort has been kind enough to assist Riaan with his Art Auction. Tienie will be overseas until July 6. Unfortunately for now all the planning is on halt until Tienie returns. We have not yet established a date and location for this event but hopefully it should be settled once Tienie returns.

Gospel fundraiser success.

The Gospel Fundraiser which was held on Thursday 27 May turned out to be a great success. We raised a total of R15 150

A big thank you to Melanie Mouton, Ilze Eichstad, singers Danie Botha, Piet Smit and the people of Hartbeespoort who made the event possible.

It was great fun and the evening went by smoothly. Thanks to everyone! We are now very busy trying to organize a date and location for the Art Auction. We will put more details up here soon!

Gospel Fundraiser

A gospel fundraiser will be held to raise funds for Riaan's fund.

Gospel singers Piet Smit and Danie Botha will headline the event, which is hosted on Thursday 27 May 2010 at the NG Kerk Hartbeespoort.

The event kicks off at 19:00 and tickets cost R100. The event's organiser, Melanie Mouton is currently looking for a sponsor to print the event's tickets. If you are interested in attending the fundraiser or being a sponsor you can contact Melanie at 082 335 7592

Golf day cancelled - 14 April 2010

It is with regret that we announce the long awaited golf day has been cancelled. This is truly awful news.

The golf event has been cancelled due to several reasons, most importantly due to a lack of interest. We wish to thank Johan Binneman, the organizer, for all his efforts and hard work that went into this event. He has lost a considerable amount of money in organizing the event.

There is talk that t

he golf event may be moved to Pretoria but for the moment it is cancelled. We apologize to the people who have already signed on for the event. You may contact Johan at 082 899 5080 for any further information.

Talk on Radio - 12 April 2010

Bosveld Stereo in Hartbeespoort had an interview this morning with Riaan to discuss his fundraising efforts. We think it went reasonably well. We wish to thank the staff from Bosveld Stereo for their support and understanding.The interviewer had mentioned the golf day too and made an appeal to anyone interested to sign up as soon as possible.

It was evident from the  interview that stem cell therapy needs more publicity, especially in South Africa. Few people know of it and perhaps that could be the reason for the low amount of donations which Riaan had received thus far. However, we do hope the golf day would be a smashing success and that we will raise the necessary funds for Riaan's trip.

ABSA Bank retracts donation - 2 April 2010

ABSA Bank has retracted its R10 000 pledge of donation to Riaan's fund. This is an awfully disappointing development and a huge setback to Riaan's fund.

ABSA bank sites "Budget problems" as the reason for cancelling their donation. We are extremely upset over this but hope that the upcoming golfday will recuperate some of the losses.

Change of date!

The date of the golf day has been changed to 21 April 2010. We had some logistical problems and therefore had to change the date.  But everything is still on track for the golf day! See you there!

GOLF DAY - 21 April 2010

A string of celebrities, including singer BLACKIE SWART and ex-Springbok rugby player Joost van der Westhuizen will tee off along with other golfers for a Fundraiser Gol f Tournament to raise funds for Riaan's trip to China.

Other celebrites confirmed include Zack du Plessis (Orkney Snork nie, Vetkoekpaleis), Tony Campbell (Die Cambells), Hannes Muller (Groet die Grotman), Ricus Nel and many more.

The event will be hosted at the Seasons Eco Golf Estate (previously Brits Golf Club) on the 21st of April 2010. Tickets cost R350, which will entitle you to 18 holes of enjoyable golf, a golf cart for 18 holes, t-shirt, cap and a meal (Halfway House). Prizes will be awarded shortly after the Tournament.

An AUCTION will also be held after the tournament where sports memorabilia will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Sponsor Wanted! - 12 January 2010

We have managed to raise the funds for the first two months of advertising on Bosveld Stereo but we despe

rately need a sponsor for Riaan's first talk on radio.

Bosveld Stereo will conduct and interview with Riaan around the end of January, but it doesn't come cheap. A ten minute or so interview will cost R1000. This interview will mean so much to Riaan's fundraising cause since this would be the first time that he would explain his illness and fundraiser in full to the public.

Previous interviews pertaining to fundraisers on Bosveld Stereo have apparently yielded good results and we hope that - along with the advertisements - this would help raise the required funds.

However, we cannot raise the funds by ourselves and we are are looking for a sponsor for Riaan's interview. If you are aware of a businnes or individual who would be willing to sponsor Riaan's interview please contact us by visiting the contact page above. Thank You!

Bosveld Stereo - 28 December 2009

Riaan now advertises his fundraising cause on Bosveld Stereo 107.5 FM. The advertisement will run twice daily for a period of t

hree months. During this period Riaan himself will also feature twice on the radio for two ten minute talks pertaining to his fundraising effort to visit China to receive stem cell therapy. We will post the date and time when Riaan will feature on the air as soon as we receive the schedule from the radio station.

Stem cell programme on SABC "3 Talk with Noeleen" - September 3, 2009

The Awareness for Stem cell therapy in South Africa is growing. Recently Noeleen from "3 Talk with Noleen" had a full hour's worth of programme on the topic "Stem cells".

This is very good news that "stem cell therapy" is finally getting some attention in this country. Not a lot of people in SA are aware of stem cell therapy.
